In China, osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a very common disease with fast development, which could lead to catastrophic hip disorder. Early and proper diagnosis can secure the best treatment outcome. Meanwhile, the differential diagnosis which could clarify the differences between ONFH and some other common hip diseases will help physicians to avoid mis-diagnosis and unnecessary treatment. In this article, we described clinical symptoms and radiological characters of ONFH and differential diagnosis with other 8 common hip diseases.
