Cervical spondylosis is a common disease in the adult and old, and it has complicated symptoms. The esophageal-type cervical spondylosis of dysphagia or pharyngeal foreign body sensation is easy to be misdiagnosed. The esophageal-type cervical spondylosis is different from common cervical spondylosis. The osteophyte located in pharynx or upper esophagus entrance will cause swallowing foreign body sensation and cervical leading edge osteophyte will cause difficulty in swallowing (occurrence rate, 2%). If there are the patients with dysphagia or pharyngeal foreign body sensation, we should think of esophageal-type cervical spondylosis. X-rays or MRI should be carried out in order to avoid misdiagnosed to make timely treatment. When it appears obvious clinical symptoms or conservative treatment fails, surgical treatment should be taken timely and can get better effect.
