Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by the decrease of bone density and the increase of the risk of the fracture. On an international level, bone mineral density (BMD) is widely considered as a diagnostic parameter at present. But it is still controversial on how to predict the osteoporotic fracture. Even most scholars consider that BMD can be used as a major parameter, some also put up other methods for the evaluation of osteoporosis without BMD. Surgical treatment of the osteoporotic fracture has its own features, and it should be accompanied by anti-osteoporotic medication. Harm caused by long-term medication is also often reported. Comprehensive measures which are meanwhile simple and easy can effectively improve the bone quality and reduce the incidence of the brittle fracture.
