Pelvic fractures are often caused by high-energy trauma and accompanied by many neurovascular and visceral lesions and hemodynamic instability, with a higher mortality. In the rehabilitation of pelvic fractures, the stabilization and control of injuries are first involved. Physical therapy is performed to restore the function after fracture reduction. It plays a guiding role to know the complex anatomical structures and functional characteristics of the pelvic ring and biomechanics of the pelvic stability for appropriate treatments. The article presents the types of pelvic fractures, associated complications and management strategies from emergency care to rehabilitation.
