Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis ( DISH ), also called Forestier’s disease, is characterized by calcification and ossification of ligaments and soft tissues, and its pathology is still uncertain. Most of the patients with DISH do not have serious clinical symptoms. Dysphagia caused by calcification or ossification in the cervical spine is a rare occurrence. A patient with DISH who had severe dysphagia due to ossification in the cervical spine was treated recently, whose clinical data was reported as following.
